Corrupt file error messages can occur when a file becomes damaged when
it has been infected with a virus. A non-readable file can happen if you
try to convert it into a different file format that is not compatible
with the original or software it was created in. No matter the reason,
there are two quick solutions to repair a broken file.

Find and Fix a Broken File Error

Click the Start button, click "Computer," and then right-click your computer's hard drive.

Click "Properties" and then click the "Tools" tab.

Click "Check now," click "Automatically fix file system errors" to find and repair your broken file,and then click "Start." If your broken file was not repaired, continue to the next section.
Restore a Previous Version of the File

Click the "Start" button and then click "Computer."

Right-click the broken file you would like restored. (Note: Double-click the folder it is in if you can't locate the file.)

Click "Restore previous versions" and then drag the file you want restored to another folder on your computer.

Click "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" to find and repair hard drive errors and then click "Start."
